I have some not so good news for you Aquaduct Pocket fans. The keyboarder, Hob Goblin (aka Justin J.), is moving away and might not be coming back for awhile. The good news is that they spent a lot of time recording everything so we'll have some material not on their albums but just as crushing. Here's a track from their first EP to hold you over until further notice. In the same vain, Halo Rings Her Head will no longer be performing as such. Internal turmoil has broken their band up for now. They also spent a lot of time recording their practice material. We're working on getting that so it can be shared. Check back soon and we'll got you those songs.

Also, StormShadow is about to drop his EP 'Omega Supreme' to be followed shortly by the full length. He'll be doing his thing in Austin until the release then you'll be able to watch his performance in other Texas cities like Houston and Dallas. You can find his EP at Waterloo Records, Music Mania, DJ Dojo and other local Austin independent music stores. We'll have it online also.

Franco B has made it into the top 5 finalist in the Famecast.com competition. Show him some love there and on his myspace page. For more information on his performance through out the competition click here. Enjoy the video.

June we'll be handing out for all the fun festivities Pedalpalooza has to offer. Pedalpalooza is the largest event of its kind in the world, with nearly 100 bike events (with some days having over 10 events!) scheduled between June 7-23rd. I'm most looking forward to this one and the zoo boom that I randomly heard about. Of course dj Orion will be attending in full force. PINK is a love courier service stationed in Austin, Texas and starting a national tour starting at the end of 2007. We'll keep you updated on all the secret after parties, pre parties, work parties, etc.

There's way too much going on during June. For one, Raw Word Records and PINK (a love courier service) will be in Portland for the month and it's looking like a lot of fun. What started out as Wednesday bike rides and then Margaritas afterwards quickly turned into this month long, all volunteer festive time of year. The great thing about it is that there is something for everyone. Family events, adult events, early events, late events. There's a ton of stuff. It's Yellow Bike Projects 10th Anniversary this weekend and they're throwing down at that new 1906 gallery on 3rd and Chicon Austin,TX. Come check out Austin's finest pedal pushers put their visions on paper, metal, fabric and of course an assortment of bike parts. Enjoy performances by djs Katherine and Orion with a guest performance by Damp Heat. (Friday May 4th,2007). Update: Show went off the proverbial chain. Katherine rocked those little tight jeaned hipsters and Damp Heat got crunktastically outrageous. Dj Orion? Well he's alright.

Raw Word Records and Groovelabs.net just got back from the festival of sun and dancing (Sundance). Actually it was more oriented towards Troma and TromaDance. We, Dj Orion and Dj A Lib, somehow got the opportunity to set up four turntables at their last party Saturday Jan. 27th at Kristauf’s Martini Bar in Park City, Utah. It was fantastic. The movies, the music and everything. Agape, who performed that evening, knew how to rock that house, the burlesque show was titillating and the weather was chilly to say the least. We have video from all of it and we'll get it to soon but we have to rest up first.

Don't forget that this Friday Feb. 2nd at Creekside Lounge (606 e. 6th street Austin, Texas) Dj Orion will be throwing down the Baile Funk. Which, to those who have yet to grasp is a style of music that was pioneered in the Favela's of Brazil and influenced by American funk and soul. Later it received influence from electro and Miami Bass to become what it is today, a loud fast energetic music filled with lyrics of sex drugs and other shanty town influences. It's free and 21 and up. Bring your sultry skin and an additive of dance.

Raw Word Records is excited to announce a second coming of our Draft Sessions at Independence Brewing 3913 Todd Lane #607, Austin, TX 78744. We'll be bringing yo the finest bands, djs, and emcees in Austin. Last month we had Foot Foot, Clap Clap, with Djs Jazz One and Orion. Check in exactly one week to see who's playing February 17th at the brewery.

You don't want to miss this seeing as though it's free beer and music right here in the heart of Texas. It will be nice for you to donate though. Musicians love getting paid.

Friday February 24th. Lava Lounge ( 405 East 7th Street Austin, TX 78701) will be the venue for the Raw Word Records art show to feature stencil and graffiti artist from around central Texas. Aquaduct Pocket Sound System will be performing as will C02, Djs Broad Band, A lib and Jazz One. We'll keep you posted on links to the artists' page and other information pertaining to that event.
